About me
I have been living in Berlin since 1999 and for several years now I have been working with women to help them understand how to feel more comfortable in their bodies again and how to age well and stay healthy.
My own sporting journey has never been a straight line.
I started with softball and played in Germany’s national league (Bundesliga). During my PhD in New Zealand, I took up rugby. Yes, voluntarily. I have always been drawn to sports that require a certain amount of courage.
I actually only discovered rowing at 40. And I quickly realised that learning something new does not stop just because we get older. Quite the opposite. That is exactly why I went on to gain the DOSB coaching licence in performance sport in rowing.
Today, I am also a certified Indoor Rowing Coach and an LSB-certified trainer in fitness for adults and older people. In addition, I hold an Internationally Accredited Certificate in Diet Planning and the Master Nutritional Coaching IM7 Certificate.
What shapes me?
I know what it feels like to start again at different stages of life. I know what performance feels like — and what change feels like.
Women over 40, in particular, experience physical changes that cannot simply be “trained away”. Perimenopause and menopause are real. They do not require extreme programmes, but understanding, structure and sometimes a sense of humour.
You can be ambitious and still laugh.
You can be strong and still have questions.
And you can begin something new at 40, 50, 60 or 70.
